What is a rush order?
If you are ordering, bridesmaid, prom or special occasion dresses and need them sooner than the time we typically need for production and shipping we can place a “rush” order. Rush orders will mean an additional fee which will depend on the company and the shipping costs.
What alterations are normally done to a dress to make it fit?
Generally, gowns can be sized down a few sizes, gowns can also be altered up slightly by a professional seamstress. We do not have a seamstress in the store, but will be happy to make a referral for you.
Alterations can include any of the following:
1) Side seams and Back Seams - The side seams and back seam in the torso can be taken in or let out to make a wedding dress fit a bride. Wedding gowns are usually made to allow the side seams to be let out up to 3 inches or 1-2 sizes.
2) Hem - The length of a dress can be shortened and depends on the height of the shoe you are planning to wear. Your seamstress will let you know whether the gown will be shortened from the waist or at the hemline.
3) Adding a corset or lace up back. This can be done because you prefer it or to resize the dress.
4) Bustle - The bustle done to fasten the train up in the back so that the dress can be worn comfortably after the ceremony. Bustling a dress is part of the alterations for any gown that has an attached train.
Do you buy or sell used gowns?
We sell only new gowns that have never been worn. We do understand that you may want to sell your gown and can offer advice and referrals to shops who may take it on consignment.
